Developing a sound business strategy is important. Having a well-oiled and clear vision of what the organization will do is well known to increase performance and focus the resources of the organization in such a way as to attain those goals in the most effective way. However, many organizations undervalue the importance of effective communication within that strategy. In fact, if your employees do not understand what you are moving towards, it is unlikely that they will be using their abilities correctly or able to provide extra input where it would be most valuable. Along the same lines, when an organization decides, wisely, to perform an organizational engagement survey, the rules of effective communication are equally as important here. It is not just about being well-prepared for the deployment of the survey but it is also extremely important to have a plan for the analysis and action-planning and the dissemination of that information within the organization. While we have a comprehensive strategy, it is too long to be posted here. However, here are some general rules to live by when it comes to communicating your results.
- Speak With Clarity
- Be consistent
- Communicate constantly
- Use the snowball effect
- Context and Credibility are everything
- Timeliness
