Associations have challenges that almost no other organization has to face. They serve many masters, have limited resources and mandates. As such, it becomes imperative that each individual is working as part of the whole; everyone in the boat must row in the same direction with enthusiasm or the boat goes nowhere.

As a result of limited resources, it is not always a simple task to deploy complex and exhaustive survey and monitoring tools in-house. Furthermore, many competitors in the engagement sphere are not particularly cost-effective.

NGOs


Large National Agency (ongoing since 2009)
In 2009 TalentMap was retained by the client to establish an employee engagement baseline and to measure its progress against that baseline in future periods. We deploy an employee engagement survey to approximately 2,000 of its employees. Prior to initial launch, TalentMap worked with the client's project team to customize the survey items. We collect, analyze and synthesize the survey results. We then present a comprehensive executive report for the overall organization to the President and his direct reports. We also present additional functional group results to senior management and employees of the client's major lines of business.

Major Canadian Foundation
The client came to TalentMap hoping for a solution that they could deploy themselves while still benefiting from our expertise. TalentMap therefore gave them access to our TalentGage Online system, which gives them the control for managing the project but still allows them to benefit from our significant survey research as well as our reporting. TalentMap hopes that they will be able to use the actionable data to help growth and increase volunteerism and we look forward to working with them once again in the future.

Associations and Committees


International Canada-based Association (ongoing since 2003)
The client association serves businesses, industry, government and consumers in Canada and the global marketplace. The client first engaged TalentMap to help measure its cultural readiness for change as it transitioned from a regulated environment to an open free market environment. The work included meeting with and interviewing senior executives, questionnaire design with a focus on cultural change readiness, data collection, analysis, reporting and communication of the results to the SLT (senior leadership team), business unit management team and employees. Based in part on TalentMap’s work, the client continues to change and evolve by staying ahead of its changing market place.

Professional Association (ongoing since May 2011)
TalentMap was retained to conduct a series of custom workplace surveys targeting nearly 1,500 leaders, heads of learning, line managers and new employees across Canada. The surveys are administered online in both official languages. TalentMap will collect and analyze the data and prepare reports for the association excecutive team members. The data will be used to identify strength and weaknesses within the sector workforce and pinpoint priority areas that need to be addressed by the association and its membership.
